"For me it was a dream come true. Allowing me to experience the incredible beauty of the Isle of Skye, and indulge my favorite activities of harping, hiking and swimming. I'm still going through Skye withdrawal"
"My husband Ford and I spent a wonderful and memorable few days at Torrin on Skye, attending a workshop with Ailie Robertson. Ford was a non playing guest and during the instruction time he occupied himself with a trip to St Kilda and to Canna.
Four of us, of very varying levels and ages, shared in the workshop. The atmosphere was totally relaxed and pleasurable and Ailie was wonderful at coping with our variable abilities and speed of learning.
We were all accommodated in a dear little cottage that had been built by Ailie's Grandfather, and Ailie also did all the catering for us. The food was delicious and we enjoyed yummy home baking at coffee and tea times. Mealtimes were great fun and everyone just mucked in to help with the clearing up afterwards. As a non-playing member of the group and the only male, Ford was made to feel very included in the group.
The cottage is undeniably small but this all added to the informality and fun. Our few days were a great experience. I feel privileged to have been taught by such a talented person as Ailie, and I think I can speak for the rest of the group when I say that we all came away with some great new tunes buzzing in our heads and hopefully harping with our fingers."
"I came away from the course feeling inspired and much more confident in my abilities. Ailie's teaching is clear, patient, and very inclusive for all abilities. A wonderful few days!"
